CNC Machine Operator – 2nd Shift
CNC Machine Operator handles computer-programmed machinery that perform a wide variety of functions, such as drilling, cutting, or shaping materials. A CNC Machine operator is largely responsible for loading material for these machines. Loading the CNC Program and making sure that written command lead to desired outcomes. At DiMax we produce machined parts by setting up and operating the CNC Routers, Laser, and Mill inspect the parts to maintain quality, and conform to our quality management system. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and safety throughout the machining process while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Job Functions
- Setup, adjust and operate CNC machines.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Machine parts to specifications.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Load raw materials and verify correct tooling, fixtures, and machine settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Perform basic machine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes
- Identify and report machine malfunctions, quality issues, or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate production records and follow established procedures
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Collaborate with leads, supervisors, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes
Work Experience
- CNC Machine Operator experience – 1 year preferred
- CAD/CAM experience – preferred but not necessary
- Ability to read blueprints and understand basic GD&T
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Familiarity with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Basic understanding of machine programming is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work independently
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Pay range: $27 – $30
Plus Shift differential $1/hr
